Ink pen for signing glossy inkjet papers

Does anyone know of an archival ink pen that will write on something like Epson Exhibition Fiber that is a dark gray and not a black black?

Hi James:

My top pick for pens for semi-gloss or glossy print signing are the Sakura Pigma Micron Pens.

I'd recommend checking out the set Of 3 Point Sizes — One each of 01 (0.25 mm), 03 (0.35 mm), and 05 (0.45 mm). Black ink. The thinnest black ones looks almost like the line that a fine pencil would make. They have brown and burgundy as options, which may suit the look you are after.

You can find them at many craft stores such as Michaels, or here for a very reasonable price:

I wrote an article on the topic here:

Hope that helps,

Andrew

I've filled my fountain pen with Epson LLK ink taken from an "empty" cartridge. Writes beautifully evry time on all gloss/pearl papers, including baryta types, and doesn't look too black.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
