Carbon C6 - Clear Base for C6b - Edwal LFN in Germany or any replacement

2011-02-21 by Gerd

Hello to all!

I am just new in this group, so a few words about me. I live in germany near the alps and print for some time with an Epson R220 and the original Carbon 6 open source inks. Thanks to Paul Roark for his help! Now I want to upgrade to an A3 printer (at first an R 1400 comes to my mind). So according to Paul I should swith from the C6a clear base to the C6b base, whis uses Edwal LFN additionally.

So this is my question: Is there an dealer who supplies Edwal LFN here in Germany? Or can anyone suggest a replacement for it?

Does B&H or Adorama or the like sell to overseas buyers?

Yes Paul, both B&H and Adorama are happy to sell to overseas buyers. The
problem from my perspective is that neither of them offer low cost
shipping (such as surface mail).

For example, B&H offer four ways to ship that US$12.95 bottle of wetting
agent to Australia, ranging from $41.25 (International Priority Mail) up
to $90.60 (FedEx Priority).

I have bought a few expensive items (such as a Gitzo tripod) from B&H,
when the shipping cost is a reasonable proportion of the whole
transaction. (For small items I have asked friends in the US to take
delivery and then send the item on from the Post Office, but I can't do
this too often.)

Hello Paul, Hello Peter!

Thanky you for your interest to my question. Yes. Shipping costs are the real problem for me. I could buy via amazon, but the shipping costs are very high in my opinion in relation to the sold item. I tried to place an order, but cancelled it in the last step: 51 EUR shipping cost was way beyond my imagination.

So I still serach an alternative:

a seller in germany or at least in europe or a replacement for Edwal LFN.
