Interesting way to show prints

Interesting way to show prints

2002-02-28 by marktuckerdotcom

Clark Thomas sent me this site by Bruce Dale, of National
Geographic fame. He seems to sell prints over the web, and he
shows them on the web, in the frame, matted, with signature.

Interesting page too is his "Equipment List"; an Epson 5500 and
10k. Here's a guy from the old school who's certainly keeping up
with the times:

But he should take off the blue border which is automatically placed
there when he hyperlinked it to the larger image.

Take a look at my website. All the content is not there yet, but I
have worked out a display that uses ASP pages (so I don't have to
make a page for every image) to get you from the thumbnail to the
large image. Then you click on the large image to get a "matted"
print. On that same page I use a modified javascript that lets you
move your mouse over several selections (None, Natural, Honey,
Cherry) for framing options.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
