OT Nikon repair

OT Nikon repair

2011-09-09 by David Aschkenas

After all, the bad press from the last poster about trying to get his
scanner repaired, thought I would offer a positive story.
One of my D 3's went down last Thursday, not warning, just white,
black and gray lines on the LCD screen.
Fed Exed the camera to Nikon Repair last Thursday afternoon (I am an
NPS member), even with the holiday this past Monday, The camera was
just returned to me this AM. Gone one week and back. I think that's
a beautiful thing.
So while they Nikon Repair might screw up sometimes, sometimes they
get it right, too.
Just my 2 cents.
David

David,
They do a great job as far as I'm concerned.. Earlier this year I shot the Miles City Bucking Horse sale for 4 days.. ( Awesome Rodeo including the old Wild Horse Race) ) I was standing in 4 to 5 inches of mud the whole time there plus it rained 60% of the time.. I totally trashed a D3s and a D700.. I had the same experience...Over nighted them to Nikon and 8 days later got them both back.. I honestly thought they would be scrappers.. especially the D700.. The scanner issue was different I think in that they just didn't have the right parts I think..
