Re:1430 problems

I have had mine packed away for a while and when I hooked it back up wireless it proceeded to do a rather large upgrade. I now have listed on the printer window from Control Panel these versions a Copy 1 Artisan 1430 (network) (Copy 1) printer but no original non copy, an Epson Artisan 1430 Series, an Epson Stylus Photo 1430 Series, An Epson Stylus Photo 1430 (Copy 1) When I select network as the default I keep geeting no connect and check to see if the Ethernet cable is plugged in. The Artisan 1430 will print when selected but the Stylus Photo printers do not print when selected. I have the 1430 on a seperate small table cabinet in a corner opposite the computers so now in order to print I have to select Virtual USB 1 and the Artisan as default printer and run a 6 ft cusb cable and a 6 ft USB extension cable across the room hooked to the computers front USB plug. The second computer is further away so it will possibly print when I network share the 1430. Prior to thanksgiving everything worked fine. I am busy this weekend then gone for 2 weeks so do not have the time to down load the latest driver and do an uninstall and reinstall the software driver. I just mention this incase the latest upgrade has made changes to the cartridge handling firmware. I intend to replace the chips on my ARC cartridges with OEM chips and use a resetter to avoid the problems I have seen reported with the ARC cartridges. For my Canon 9000 I just purchased OEM cartridges and use a resetter as the ARC does not report low and runs out in the middle of a print. Since I have gone to OEM's Everything is fine and I hope that will be the same for the 1430. Bill Lewis
