1400 auto head cleaning between print jobs

1400 auto head cleaning between print jobs

2013-03-26 by mccarvill

My 1400 has started doing automatic head cleanings before each print job, even the smallest ones, and even when the print jobs are minutes apart. Otherwise, the printer is working fine, with perfect nozzle checks. I'm using QTR and Windows 7. Thoughts?

I've noticed that I have developed the same problem with my 1400 recently, apparently when I switched from a CIS system to using removable cartridges. I would welcome a way to reduce (and control) these cleanings, which never seemed to have occurred with the same frequency with the CIS system. The logic (and reason) escapes me.

After posting, I turned the printer off for a few hours and back on, and it made a few prints without auto-cleaning. Not sure if the problem fixed itself that easily, or whether it points to a more serious issue.
