Photoshop CC / Under age 13 restriction?
2013-09-12 by Joseph Meyerson
When I was a kid, and overexposed, overdeveloped, agitated constantly or forgot I was using a single use bottle of fr-22 instead of d-76 1:1 or d-23... I'd pull out the pound brown glass bottle of p. ferrcy. to mix up some fresh farmer's reducer. This when I was about 9 or 10? Now I see that one of the terms of Photoshop CC is that I can't buy a copy for someone under age 13. Of course, back then, a kid could walk into a 32nd to 34th Street camera store in NYC and pull bottles of cyanide and phenidol off the shelf... and fixer was about .05 a pound... How then do we teach kids? Elements and Lightroom every year???? Search Harry's Filters, buy Nik and a dozen other add ons, or the last remaining CS6 copies out there, quickly now, until we discover they won't run under Windows 9, 10 or 11? First we teach the kids one 'easy' way on Elements through school years; then the 'right' way after they're 3 or 5,000 hours into Elements? Don't be surprised then if the new generation tells us we don't 'need' our digital Kodachrome anymore? Joe
