Digital BW, The Print

I've been getting rapidly flashing red lights that supposedly indicate the CD/DVD tray guide is open. I've never used the CD/DVD tray guide. When I tried to open the front cover to investigate, I found it wouldn't open -- seems to be caught on the side near the buttons. (It used to fall open when I didn't intend it to.) I'm afraid to force it. Any suggestions? If I turn the printer off, let it rest a while, and turn it on again, it starts up with no problem, but the lights start flashing again after one print, usually.

Just a suggestion but I would check to see if anything has fallen in there to cause a jam of some nature.
