cannot get rid of unwanted crop marks on my image

cannot get rid of unwanted crop marks on my image

2014-10-07 by bob4aua@...

I have CS6 and have had a problem suddenly appear: unwanted, unrequested crop marks appear all over my images and cannot get rid of them. I have gone through all of the available options for activating, deleting, changing, using the classic mode or not, all to no avail. If I close the document and start a brand new document there they are. Re-booting has had no effect. The only good part of this, is that they do not appear on a print of the document showing all of the crop marks. Has anyone encountered this problem and how can it be dealt with? Help very much appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by crop marks. Are you referring to a grid that appears over your image? If so, go to View --> Show --> Grid. If Grid is checked, uncheck it. If this is not what you are referring to, I don't know what to say next.

That is exactly what it was- a grid that looks like the various options for cropping. By doing exactly what you suggest –problem solved. Thanks.

It sounds like a CS6 problem – try trashing the preferences file and see if that clears the problem

Windows: Shift + Ctrl + Alt
Mac: Shift + Command + Option
