Costs are about 10-15 cents or so for a letter size photo if you use bulk Archival inks. You get 4 ounce bottles, or about 120 ml of ink for about $12-$16 dollars a color, depending on the inkset you get. Generations and MIS Archival are the two tried and tested to 100 years + under normal low light viewing conditions. THe epson carts hold only around 17 ml. of ink, and not all of it is useable. When one color goes, you lose the whole cartridge. The 1280 offers higher print quality than the 2000p, prints about 3-4 times faster, and the archival inks have very little metamerism. Some, but little. You'll need a profile for whatever inks you get for your particular printer to get really high quality results consistently. Jerry byronbulb wrote:
