Jerry,

Royal Plush is Orwell/German Etching. Or at least it used to be!

At Media Street, Royal Renaissance is H. Photo Rag or very
close to it.

I also think that Epson Smooth Fine Art is Museo. Someone
please correct me if I am wrong.

Which looks just like william turner/Frankfurt/Lyson fine art/Orwell, etc. All are great papers, just be sure you brush them down, as all
have flaking troubles if you don't.

Isn't william turner quite a bit smoother than German Etching? I've only
had a sample of the WT but as I recall the color was very similar to GEB but
the texture was not. Once again, it could be my middle aged mind playing
tricks on me...

Www.photoinkjet.com has all of these papers. Just tell them what you are
looking for and they will sell you their equivalent.

Frank,

Epson Smooth Fine Art is made by Crane (the maker of Museo) but it is not
the same as Museo. Robert Rex from Crane can give you more info. Email me
off list if you want his email address.

No, I think they are the same. It would appear that the thinner version of william turner is NOT the same as the thick. The thin is very
sandy. Feels like fine sandpaper, and my william turner doesn't. Any of these papers is excellent. Just be sure to wipe them down before
printing.

The following is a table that one of the listmembers compiled some time ago:'

Paper names:

Hahnemhle German Etching 310 =

Royal Plush, Frankfurt Art, Vienna, Conetech Orwell, Luminos
Classic Velour, Lyson Fine Art Standard

Hahnemhle W. Turner 310 (100% Rag,=

Lyson Cotton Rag

Hahnemhle Torchon 285 (Inkjet Watercolor Paper)=

Royal Riviera 285 gsm, Lyson Soft Fine Art,
Lumijet Museum Parchment

Hahnemhle Albrecht Durer 210 (Watercolor paper)=

Royal Weave 210 gsm (Contech Chelsea??? dont find my
sample in the mement to proof)

Hahnemhle W. Turner 190 (100% Rag, mould made)=

Royal Jazz, Wells River, Luminos Woven Fiber

Hahnemhle Photo Matte 170=

Conetech Matte.

Hahnemhle Allegretto 160 (Inkjet Watercolor Paper)=

Royal Sunrise, Conetech Tunbridge

Re: [Digital BW] Where to buy papers?

2002-03-13 by Jerry Olson

Okay, my mistake. But wipe it down anyway, or it flakes. I've used just about every paper ever mentioned on these lists. Most Hahnemuhle
papers have the best blacks, but a lot of them flake if you don't wipe them down first. And all the below mentioned papers do look much
alike. Wells River sure doesn't feel like william turner. it is sandy and gritty. The samples of william turner I had were not.

RE: [Digital BW] Where to buy papers?

2002-03-13 by Nij

Steve,

That would rather depend on whether or not you were talking about William
Turner 190 or William Turner 310.

The WT 310 is certainly more expensive than German Etching 310 (sometimes
known as Orwell for one). The WT190 is 'Wells River' at ConeTech.

Best regards,
nij
