New 7000 on the way

New 7000 on the way

2002-03-14 by ashleyzack

Ordered my 7000 yesterday and will be purchasing the Colorbyte rip as
well. Can't wait to set it up and start printing. I am also looking
at the 7500 for my color work but may consider a 9500 or 10000 . I
would like to offer the most flexibility to my customers, even though
I don't have any yet.

I will build my computer next week and connect to my existing
network. I also have to purchase a new monitor.
Question. Has anyone had experience with Lacie 22 in monitors? I have
used Hitachi Supremes in the past and have a 21 Mits now, but I like
the look of the Lacie

Question. Once I have done some printing with the 7000 and Epson
inks, what ink set and which papers would you recommend to start with

I will be printing for myself, I am using a Nikon D1X camera (love
it) and also a couple of scanners, I would like to offer
Photographers and Artist my services, Fine Art printing and perhaps
other things as well. I plan on attending Art shows and Photo events
and carrying samples with me,

Question. In what ways have others been successful in attracting
business to your printing services?

Please note: I am doing this for fun but would like to at least make
it pay for itself. Possibly having an Art student and or photographer
come to work part time.

Thanks for your help as always

In another day or two I will be the proud owner of a Mitsubishi
Diamond Pro 2060U 22 inch, which is, guess what, the guts the Lacie 22
electronblue is built from. I got that from a LaCie tech.

Nothing wrong with the LaCie or the Mitsubishi. Just thought that
little tidbit would be interesting.<g> I don't know how much LaCie
adds into the package from Mitsubishi.

I have the LaCie 22" mk II. The best monitor I've used (my others were Sony and Apple).
Great colors and contrast. Do yourself a favor and add the Blue Eye. Helps a lot with b/w image
editing and a must for color work.

I have the Lacie22blueIII and use my old proveit spyder instead of the
blueeye puck. The softwre comes free with the monitor and your can buy the
USB video cable (this assumes you're an a mac) for about $60 or $70 and
viola, hardware calibration for LOTS less than buying the lacie stuff.
