Tom,

The tubing would not take too much but the cartridge portion of the CIS hold
as much ink as a regular cartridge. They would require many pages to
exchange and even more to completely flush.

I have the NFS in my 1280 at the moment and it is very, very different from
the regular FS. So I have to guess you still have a cartridge worth of
regular FS in your system or they sent you the wrong ink.

Martin, what is the NFS inks? I have the VM inks, and I know about the FS inks and the Sepia inks, but haven't heard of NFS.

Yikes... Guess I'd better run a bunch of flush images on plain old
paper... Wonder how many of them it will take <g>.

Jerry-

It's the new neutral formula FS inks that Paul has been working on.

And it sounds like I was not really to smart about how I changed them
out... I've been flushing and it sounds like I should have used my
head and bought new carts for the CIS...we'll see which gets here
first, the carts or more paper <g>.

Since I apparently haven't seen the new inks yet <g>, I can't tell
you first hand, but others say it's beautiful...all the FS range but
a little less warm.

Tom, why would there be a need for them? Can't we get everything from the VM inks and the Sepia Set?

Those 2 inksets seem to go from slightly blue to VERY brown!

About 80, if you didn't suck some the inks out of the cartridges first :(.

Jerry-

I use VM with the curves and Epson driver and/or Lyson Small Gamut
with Epson driver (for glossy) when I need toning. But for straight
deep black BW prints, I use the FS with the Piezo driver because it
is about 3x faster to print. Sounds lazy, but the real reason is
probably that I don't want to waste such an expensive piece of
software and I quit using the piezo inks long ago.

Evening Tom!

Ah, that would work for you. I never had the piezo software for my 1280 printer which I use for Black and white only printing. I have the VM
inkset, and using Paul's curves, get great results. The one thing and ONLY thing I miss about the piezo system is its' driver. It really
did print much faster than the epson driver. I wonder why epson can't speed that up a bit?

Tom, what printers are you using for the Small Gamut Lyson? I tried those inks in an 1160 I no longer own. Beautiful prints, but there were
fine dots in the highlights.
Are you using them in a 1280, and if you are, can you see any dots?

How about Metamerism? It always crept up under tungsten lighting, just a bit, not bad, but annoying.
