Photographing the Grand Canyon ...

Photographing the Grand Canyon ...

2002-04-09 by Ricardo Lagos

i've got some vacation time coming at the end of may, and finally decided what to do with it -- Photograph the grand canyon (or at least some small part of it) ..

.. its been a long time since i've been there, and i've never tried to photograph it, so i'd love to hear your suggestions and tips about photographing such a vast park --

what spots do you think are "must see" spots...
tips on photographing the canyon early, and late..
South Rim vs Norht Rim?

maybe even some tips on groups to contact --

hike to the bottom?
etc, etc -- even film recommendations ... i plan to do mostly b/w .. but i'm sure i'll bring a few rolls of color for some sunset/sunrise shots --

also which lenses would be indispensable? -- (since all i own is a 28-70 4.5 canon, i think its time to spend some dough and get something nice)..

.. the dates of my trip are the week after memorial day - (yeah crappy time to visit a national park since everyone will be there, but unfortunately i dont get a choice on these vacations days -- work is doing forced time off)

thanks in advance for your responses ..
