MIS-FS and 1160

MIS-FS and 1160

2002-04-19 by Steven Schaefer

It is time to buy more ink..... I have trying to keep up on the
discussion on the MIS-FS inks. This is what I think I have learned:

The MIS-FS are compatible with the Piezo driver, and with the Piezo
driver you have the advantage of all the built in paper profiles.

A big advantage I see is I could proof the image on EAM and print it on
a more expensive paper like Torchon.

I was under the impression the MIS-FS inks produced neutral tones, but I
just read on the inkjetgoodies.com site that it is a warm toned ink. If this
is true, is there an ink out there that I could use with a piezo driver
that would deliver neutral- to- cool toned prints?

Thanks

The MIS web-site had just added the FS-N (neutral) inks - before this
you had to call and ask for them. I've just put these into one of my
Epson 1160's and the results have been fabulous. My other 1160 is
about to get regular MIS-FS (which is warmer than FS-N but perhaps a
touch less warm than PiezoBW ink).

The neutral ink is FS-N. It can also be used with the piezo driver with
good results. I'm not sure whether www.inkgoodies.com has it or whether you
have to buy directly from MIS (www.inksupply.com)...that's where I got mine.
