John, there is no "Show more Options" button at the bottom left of my print dialogue box. There is a button that says "Advanced", but no
transfer button under that one either. Weird.

I kept my old scanner. The day after it stopped working, it started to work again. I just thought I'd try it one last time before ordering a
new one, and it worked, and has been working since. I have NO idea why I was getting splotches and noise in the shadows, but it's gone now.

[Digital BW] Transfer Function Re: question for photoshop 7 users...

2002-04-22 by charles_bandes

Ok, this time I am actually going to have the print box in front of me
while I write so I make sure I give you accurate info.

All of this is on OSX - I am still using a beta of PS7 (hopefully this
will be remedied over the next day or two), so it's _possible_ that
this has changed in the release, but I doubt it.

I hit Apple-P to bring up the print box - I get what looks like the
Print Options box from PS6

On the left side of the box is a preview of the page with the printed
image on it. Directly below that preview image is a box that says
"Show more options"

You need to have "Show more options" _enabled_

Directly below that is a dropdown which defaults to saying "Color
Management" Change that so it says "Output"

When it's set to "output" five buttons become enabled - background,
border, bleed, screen, and, Hoo-Rah - Transfer! :)

I do hope that helps - and I sincerely apologize if I made it more
difficult than it had to be.

-CB
