Tylers Curves question
2002-05-03 by Jim Panzer
Hey people, well, today I made my first B&W print with my 1280, running MIS VM inks and using Tyler's Plat curve. I am really happy with the outcome, thank you all for the info and tips I have picked up here. I do wish I could make a more glossy looking, cool tone print like in the darkroom when I use Ifords cool tone pearl multi grade paper. But today I ordered some Ilford gallery, smooth tone from Greg at Inkjet goodies.com and I'll try that out. By the way, Inkjet goodies.com has great customer service, I would recommend them to anyone. But the reason for this post is that while going through and changing the options in the print options box (Photoshop 6), I came to the area where it says, "Source Space". Now on the MIS site they say to change it to "same as Source", but they also say to change the setting somewhere (I don't know where) to gamma of 1.8. But, I can also pick something to the effect of "blahblahblah 1.8" under the profile area where I would pick the same as source setting. I am using a PC by the way. I am sorry if I am making no sense here, I am just confused on which I should choose for using Tyler's curves. Either way I love the first print I have made using my digital dark room, hopefully I'll get better as I learn, thanks. Jim P [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
