Digital BW, The Print

Dear Group...
                     HELP!!
                     I am up to my ..you know what.. in terrible
                     black and white prints...So 
                     could anyone tell me:What the best paper and
                     the correct setting on my 
                     Epson stylus color 740 printer that will give
                     me good
                     prints considering the limitations of the
                     equipment..I take the 
                     photos with an Olympus C- 2040 digital camera
                     and download 
                     into an I Mac os9 with an Adobe Photo Deluxe
                     photo program.
                     I am not a highly technical person so PLEASE
                     simply put (if possible):
                     What paper and what media setting on my Epson
                     740 will gve me the best 
                     black and white print???..(.please exclude
                     "Glossy paper)
