PS6 vs PS7 VM saga (Martin)

Martin, First, I as well would like to thank you for an excellent review of the Piezotones. As you continue to use them, can you and others report further experiences, esp. wrt longevity, ink consistancy/performance over time, etc....as I would like to keep as close an eye on these products as I can with the possibility of switching from MIS VM. Speaking in the present for me however, you had asked me a week ago to convert stepwedges from gamma 2.2 to both sRGB and Adobe98 in both PS6 and PS7, to see if sRGB was indeed not mapping in the darker areas. Well, everything matches. I even used Paul's stepwedge with gradations in 1%k increments after 95%k and both PS6 and PS7 with either color space give me the correct %k after conversion. Of course this does not include the addition of of a correction curve layer- to convert it to a false color image. Yet that dark test print still printed differently depending on color space and PS version. ......... Anyway, wanted to get back to you (and others, if anyone still following) on that. I may not be going on vacation as I planned, as it seems every day we get a new fire in Colorado, some of the latest ones, still small, very close to us. Yesterday one started only 20 miles away and is still going strong. So I might be hanging around to evacuate stuff if needed. This has really been a bad weather year. Jim H.
