Are you loading the MIS virgin cartridges with the resetable chips yourself
or did you buy preloaded cartridges? If they were preloaded, then give MIS a
call. If you set them up yourself then make sure the chips are fully seated
and parallel with the cartridge. I bought the QB7 chip resetter and always
reset the chips just before I put the cartridges in the printer. I have
gotten a couple of bad chips, so if you have some extra chips, which I
highly recommend, try a different chip.

Also try switching each MIS cartridge one at a time with a known good Epson
cartridge to find out if it is the color or the black cartridge that is
giving you problems.

As I may have reported earlier, I had problems with a set of these in my
1280. Started with banding then moved to no nozzle check. Replaced with OEM
inks and nozzle check was perfect. Haven't called MIS yet but it seems like
a situation where they should replace the cartridge. I also had a very short
charging/cleaning cycle when using these cartridges. Let's call MIS!
