Well the first thing I have to say is never, ever, under any circumstances
let your printer sit without any cartridges installed. When you leave the
cartridges out, whatever residue may be in the nozzles is going to dry out
on you causing problems.

At this point try some original Epson cartridges. They are great at cleaning
out the heads and will confirm proper operation of the printer. The cleaning
fluid in the flush cartridges is so thin that it may make it through the
nozzles when pigment inks or even dye inks won't.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
