Selling Piezography- Good Press
2002-08-02 by sdmey4@aol.com
I''ve taken the liberty of cutting this message from the Piezo3000 list as there where no comments made There. If Howard Greenberg and Petter Fetterman Galleries are selling Piezo than its definitely a Huge Green light with lots more of this type of activity to come. My own Quadtone exhibit in Seattle just came down with 10 out of 15 sold 600-950.00 so I'm now getting more than I used to get for my silver prints! Certainly no less! But I have been moving my prices up over the last couple years anyway as the editions sell. Steven Meyers http://www.xray-art.com > Brian Gorman writes from the Piezo3000 list: "The latest issue of PDN (August 2002) contains an article on "A new digital portfolio of Walker Evens masterworks" (p. 62). The Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York, Peter Fetterman Gallery in Santa Monica, and MArtson Hill Editions in New Haven, Ct. are selling the limited edition portfolios. "Four carbon black pigments define the images as they are laid onto acid-free rag paper via digital inkjet printing. This process is capable of producing twice the range of gray values found in traditional gelatin silver prints. The exceptional quality of this process has brought digital printing into the realm of approval by museums and collectors. The drum scans were worked in Photoshop and printed with ConeTch's Piezography system on Hahnemuhle PhotoRag heavyweight paper." Congratulations Jon and company! . . . and if your gallery is not interested in Piezography prints, leave behind a copy of this article!" brian@... www.briangormanphoto.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
