Since most of my darkroom printing was platinum/palladium, which commonly has a brush stroke border of some kind, I couldn't resist trying it when I took up the PC. It looked pretty awful. Closest I saw was painting a border (real paint, real paint brush), scanning and overlaying. But it was still awful.

Mark

Just curious: are the 'borders' on your pictures the 'real thing'?

I presume the inside of the border shows the rebate of your Hasselblad magazine.
Is the outside produced by the neg holder of your scanner? What sort of scanner
is that?

Is that your tongue in your cheek?

Whatever, these are superb images! I've been thinking of buying a panorama camera (my Kaidan tripod head would be a bit awkward for the bird photo on your site). I have no idea what is portable and good quality - If I may ask what did you use to make these images?

Regards,

Friends don't let Friends make fake borders. Seriously.

Just don't do it. You'll never feel good about that image ever
again. Every time you look at it, you'll know that you committed a
grave deed. It'll never sell. People will talk about you behind your
back. You'll get audited. Your Preferences files will all get
corrupted. You'll never be able to look at yourself in the mirror
again. It's just bad karma. For real. Some things have to remain
sacred, even in the Photoshop era.

Yes. Luckily, the Imacon film carrier is just slightly larger than
the
outside dimensions of the film. Happy accident, yes? I thought
so.

You don't have to file, or do anything to the carrier. Whatever you
see is just like my carrier renders.

You don't think I'd rail on that guy, and then get caught guilty,
would do?

Thanks Mark

Looks like another reason to get an Imacon. My Nikon LS-30 film holder crops the
image all round.
