I'm trying to install the update to photoshop 7, but the installer keeps telling me that it can't find photoshop 7 on my system, but it is definitely there. Anyone know what my problem is?

I read on some forum (here or elsewhere) that Adobe had included a number of serial numbers in the upgrade they considered to be pirated. They may have included some valid serial numbers and that may be causing your problem. Complain to Adobe and see what happens. Jeff Greer At 06:41 PM 09/11/2002 +0000, you wrote:

Did you heed the advice and make sure the existing photoshop folder is named properly? I had no trouble at all with mine (Mac OS 9). Antonis

You should check with Adobe customer service. This message is typical if the serial number that you are using is blacklisted by Adobe as a pirated number. Check the Adobe.com forums for further infomation. It's and installation problem. The similar problem I was having was because the installer couldn't recognise a win2000 folder it temporarily dumped stuff in because it was call tmp and not temp... it's just badly set up The other problem mentioned also has a simple solution tim

FWIW, I installed the upgrade a couple of weeks ago on a Win2000 system. You might just go to the user/help forums on the Adobe site. I've had great luck solving any photoshop problems there...pretentiously called "The Adobe Expert Center" <g> http://studio.adobe.com/expertcenter/photoshop/main.html Hope it helps.
