I just took out an old Stylus Color that had not been used in over a year.
It was stored with Epson OEM carts. I printed a nozzle check that was real
bad. I went no further, no cleaning cycles, simply put in brand new Epson
OEM carts. It started printing right away without a hitch.

So maybe think of removing CIS and cleaning like Paul says, and storing with
Epson OEM's.

Sound like a good idea, Ijust don't know the best way to store the
cis system so the ink doesn't dry up in the head.

Vinny,

Take apart the CIS system. Throw the cartridges away. Wash out the tubes
with warm water. Put caps (the originals) without holes on the bottles of
ink. If you do not have the originals, you can buy them cheap from MIS. You
will have to buy new carts in 3 months and recharge your system, but that
cost is a lot less than ruining you printer.

I was planning to install the plugs you can get from
"www.inkjetart.com" and keep the level of the
cartdriges slightly below the level of the ink in the
bottles.
Haven't done it yet, though.
