Any problems with Epson 7600?

Any problems with Epson 7600?

2002-09-18 by Mitch Alland

I am considering the possibility of getting a 7600 rather than a 2200
because I would like to make mainly 16x24 inch prints, and sometimes
would like to print at 22x33 inch size, which I suppose is the largest
print from a full-frame 35mm negative that can be made with this
printer.

As I intend to print only one matte paper, I am not worried by the loss
of 1/4 of the ink in the cartridges when switching between the two
types of black inks when changing between glossy and matte paper. But
are there any other problems with this printer?

I was intending to use the ImagePrint RIP for color and B&W. What are
the thoughts on this?

Epson is rumored to be uploading a firmware fix this coming
Friday. This is rumored to address the "remaining ink" issue. I
assume it will be for both the 9600 and 7600.

Someone said tonight that the Windows version is already up.
But I guess Friday for Mac version.

I assume it's on the Driver/Download section of epson.com.

Are the 220ml 9600 cartridges cheaper on a per print basis, or is just
the convenience of a 220 vs 110ml cartridge?
