Digital negs

2002-10-02 by Ken Carney

I have had some success with imagesetter and inkjet negs for pt/pd, but have never really tried it for silver. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has had success with silver paper. The WC paper for pt/pd hides a lot of flaws. It seems the cost of film output is coming down, and I'm skeptical that an imagesetter or inkjet neg would have the tonal range and detail needed for fiber based silver prints. But, Dan Burkholder's book ( www.danburkholder.com) holds out hope and I would appreciate hearing from those who have tried.

  Martin, Stan, Bernhard, All,

Because of the posts on this thread and the subject line, I am asking that
you end it. If you want to discuss platinum/palladium printing from digital
negs, please do so, as this is a very worthwhile topic, but under a new
  subject line.

  Thank you,
  Martin Wesley

I've seen Dan Burkholder's silver prints up close and personal. They are excellent
with no grain.
