It will be difficult to fall in that category :-)

I did some scanning of 665 film on an old 1200 ppi Agfa Horizon Plus A3
flatbed and on a 4000 ppi Nikon 8000, both wet mounted scans. The last just
a 56 x 83 mm part of the film.

Jonathan,

There were articles about shooting 55 P/N and entire scanning workflow as
well in the Sept/Oct 2001 issue of View Camera magazine. On a 1680 I
believe. You can try contacting them for back issues.

Martin,

Thank-you very much for that tidbit of information. It is a gem of information for
me if I can get my hands on that article. I called up VIEW CAMERA MAGAZINE for a
back issue of containing the article. Suprisingly they don't have a copy to sell at
all despite the recent date. They are going to send me copies of the article as
well as the latest issue for a fee. If anybody in this forum has a back issue from
that date (Sept/Oct 2001) I'd be happy to buy the magazine!!! Anybody interested
in making a few dollars??

My email is : kaptjon@...
or call me at 201-287-0705

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jonathan

Jonathan,

Once you get the article let us know what you think of the workflow.

Jonathan,

I also remembered an earlier article by George in Camera Arts, same
publisher as View Camera, on using the 1640 for scanning with wet mounting.
Was in 2001 also. Probably in the spring.

Martin,

When I called ViewCamera Magazine I asked the name of the author of this
specific article. I didn't write it down however it was a different name than
George DeWolfe since I already have his article. Hmmm, I will find out as soon as I
recieve the copies from View Camera Magazine.

Martin,

Perhaps the Camera Arts article you referred to is from the April/May 2002
issue: Digital Domain -- "Scanning 101 and The New Epson Expression 1640XL"
by George DeWolfe.
