John -

What struck me about DIFP (www.difp.com) was the
speakers were clearly acknowledged leaders in their
fields (Color Managment, Photoshop image procesing and
output to Epson printers -- 2200, 7600 & 9600) who
were concise and opiniated in their thoughts on their
respective topics. Though the event was sponsored,
they weren't afraid to take a shot at a feature of a
sponsored product that they felt could better solved
by a third party source -- e.g. Epson Drivers v.
Image Print RIP's - and yes, Mr. Rodney was indeed
present.

I've been following this and WAY too many forums and
lists for the last year, and needless to say the
disparity and variety of opinion and information is
endless. I've been sorting thru all this, attempting
to find methods that work for me.

What the speakers -- Andrew Rodney, Jeff Schewe, and
J.P. Camponigro -- did was to present information
and techniques, show how and why they worked and why
that method was superior to other alternatives. Clear
and concise.

And yes, the Epson prints that Greg Gorman showed
were beautiful and "Dead nuts neutral" to coin his
phrase.

I left feeling not quite as stupid as did I walked in.
