Metamerism can be much higher with certain colorants in areas where bronzing occurs, simply because there is more ink than the media can properly absorb.. You can essentially have ink on ink instead of ink on media (ad nauseum), and that can accentuate metamerism as a result of these "piled up" colorants. So, he COULD be seeing both. That said, metamerism and bronzing ARE two different phenomena.
