1280 says black cart not intalled properly

My 1280 says the black ink cart is not installed properly, no matter what I do. I tried a flush cart from IJM but realized it was missing the chip (just didn't have one where it should have been) so tried putting the original Epson black cart back in to the flush the color. It then said that cart was empty (it wasn't)Finally I tried the new Peizo black cart and it said that was improperly installed. It now says even the original Epson cart is improperly installed. I tried and tried, but nothing I do will say the cart is not improperly installed. Rebooted, turned the printer on and off. Nothing. Help.......... BTW, Piezo software installed easily. I even made a Peizo print before took out the color carts to flush. Bob Michaels
