Well, there have been a couple cases of mis marked MIS quad inks. Couldn't 
you use one of the purge patterns from MIS to print out the four tones? Or 
figure a way tp print individual tones(the four of them) and see if you have 
4 distinct tones.
Mottling shouldn't come from the Y&M positions. too much ink going down maybe 
?
You where getting good prints from IP5 before the ink change?
