Digital BW, The Print

The 1280 is one of the best printers on the market, and you should be
able to get a new one now for about $379 or so. If $300 is absolutely
your top limit, you could get the smaller 8.5 inch wide version, but
would then be limited
to 8x44 inch prints.

Hi,
Well this brings up a question for me. I'm looking to upgrade my printer. I
was going to get the Epson 2200.
Any advantage on that versus the 1280?

1280 - Much less expensive than the 2200
     - More 3rd party inks and add-on products to 
       choose from
     - More workflows and other solutions to 
       choose from

2200 - Has 7th ink, the Light Black, which may or 
       may not make prints look better
     - Uses proprietary UltraChrome inks which you 
       may or may not like
     - Is newer than the 1280, and vendors are 
       beginning to make inks and other add-on products 
       for it, and is reasonable to expect more to come.
