Epson EBRR.EXE?

Last week I bought an Epson 2200. After installing the software, everytime I boot my PC I get a pop-up warning from my firewall software telling me that "ebrr.exe" (Program Files\Common Files\EPSON\EBAPI\ebrr.exe) is trying to act as a server. (i.e., it's trying to connect to the internet). Any idea what ebrr.exe is? Can I delete it?
