[Digital BW] Re: EEM/EAM Deacidification -- Wei To spray #12

John, >So, you put the Wei To #12 spray on the back, and the PUR (with the >wire-wound rod) on the front ? >How do the two interact ? Which one do you put on first ? Both of these ideas are still experimental, in my view. I'll probably fade and otherwise test the deacidification spray first. My polyurethane coating experiments are on hold for a while. For the show I'm printing for, I'll stick with matte under glass. However, if the Wei To appears to be OK, I'd like to use that on everything. Ultimately, assuming that both ideas pan out, I'd assume you'd put the buffer on the back before coating the front. That what the solvent could more easily evaporate. I think the front coating should go on last, after everything else is thoroughly dry. I don't know if there will be any interaction, but I doubt it. The Wei To buffer, magnesium carbonate, is supposed to be rather benign. Most papers already have buffers in them -- usually calcium carbonate. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
