Digital BW, The Print

Perhaps someone can help me out with this problem.

When printing a large grayscale image in Photoshop to the Epson 
driver, the driver cuts off the image 2/3 to 3/4 into the image.

Example,

I open a 24"x32" 300 dpi scan. I manipulate the file then resize 
(with interpolation off) to approx. 7"x9". I convert to RGB apply the 
proper curve and print. The print preview show the image only 2/3 
complete. The actual print stops at the same point as illustrated by 
the print preview.

I am using a PC with 1gb ram. I have Photoshop setup to use 75% of 
the memory. I also have 8 levels of cache setup. 

If I re-size using interpolation the image prints fine, but obviously 
I loose quality.

Any suggestions?
