Strathmore Bristol paper - MIS VM ink

I tried printing on this acid free, heavyweight drawing paper and the results weren't terrible. The paper is very inexpensive at Pearl art supplies. I used the "matte" paper selection of the 1160 driver and a levels = .65 to approximate what was on the screen. What could I do to det more ink on the paper? Andy
