Thomas: Were both your CISs from MIS? Or NoMoreCarts?

Both were NMC. In the first one, I installed Cone's archival color
inks which worked briefly, but then began to clog. That was about 2
years ago. I then decided to use the printer for BW and switched the
CIS to the VM Hex inkset. When I needed to get more ink, I installed
new tubing carts. Have had very little trouble with the VM inkset or
the printer til now.

Thanks Tom.

My experience: I have a NMC in an 1160 printer that has never gone
wrong. I also have a MIS in a second 1160 -- on this one, the print
head sometimes gets tangled in the tubes. I blame the stiffer MIS
tubing. I intend to make a new bracket to hold the tubes higher above
the printer -- until I do that, I just keep fiddling and cursing...
