New Test File, Offset Gradient

New Test File, Offset Gradient

2003-05-09 by Martin Wesley

In the Files section in folder:

Files>Image Processing

I have posted a new test file, OffsetGrad8.jpg, developed by Tyler Boley. The 8-bit grayscale image is a series of 100 to 0 grayscale wedges running horizontally but each one is slightly offset from the one above and below. The result is that if there are any flat spots or reversals in the tone ramp of the ink/workflow being used, they are very easy to see as diagonal bands and it is easy to locate the tonal ranges which need correction. Try printing it out with your favorite ink, paper and workflow.

Very handy! Thanks Tyler!
