Adjusting VM-S inks?

Adjusting VM-S inks?

2003-05-13 by Richard Cooke

Hi All,

I'm currently using a 1160 with the vm-s inks and Paul's curves. I
followed Jerry's suggestion and subsituted generations black for the
MIS black. I thought all was well until I printed the new step wedge
that Tyler came up with (If I have that wrong I apologize). It shows
a pretty severe jump in density between 55-60% mark.

I've read through the archives to try and understand the whole curve
adjustment procedure but I'm still a little fuzzy on the whole thing.
Can anybody that uses the gen4 black offer any words of wisdom?

Thanks,

Richard Cooke

MIS Ultra Tone Inks -Solarization on Glossy

2003-05-14 by Eric Brotman

I am using Paul's newly posted curves for the Epson 1270 with MIS Ultra
Tone on glossy. The curves provide beautiful neutral and warm tones. My
goal is to print on glossy not matte. There continues to be
solarization on the glossy. Are there any adjustments or paper
suggestions that might at least reduce the solarization effect?

I am using the correct 4-PK Black.

Thanks

Eric
