does anyone know of any reason not to use MIS hextone ink carts from
2001? has anything in the ink formula changed - any issues re
clogging,
etc?

Suzane:

I'd be a little concerned about the age of the inks. Two years (or
more since manufacture) is pushing the envelop imo. OTOH, they may
just be fine. I don't know which inkset you are looking at, but note
that the MIS-FS hextone inkset is only for use with the Piezo-plug.
It really a quad inkset with Pc=C and Pm=M. If you want to use the
Epson driver you will need to purchase the MIS FS-E inkset. The MIS-
VM inkset family works well with the Epson driver.
