International Print Exchange..?

International Print Exchange..?

2003-06-03 by Tom De Carlo

Howdy All!

the idea of exchanging b/w digital prints from around
the world seems too good to pass up. but also seems to
just beg for major headaches..!

but in the spirit of keeping the idea afloat like a
beach ball at a major sporting event...

how does rotating the international hosting duties
sound? that way shipping costs will maybe balance out
over the long run.

granted, with the wind at my back, I could probably
catapault my prints from my roof in san francisco to
Tom O'Connell in sausalito(spanish for a small shot of
tequila?).

but I wanna know what it would take to see some images
from around the world..!

Have any of the more experienced exchange participants
been part of anything like that? any warnings or
encouragement?

Tom

Sounds like a good idea. However ... not wanting to sound too
prejudiced ... I think most of the list members are from Europe and
the US. I think having two separate US and European print exchanges
would work. That way, anyone can participate in either, and makes
for less hassles for "local" participants who don't want to send the
prints out of the US or Europe.

Steve. You originally voiced the idea of the UK/European exchange.
Do you want to take the lead on this and let us know when you'll
start posting some details?
