B&W Scanning forum...

B&W Scanning forum...

2003-06-04 by jsinger986

It was suggested here before but I don't think its been done... so, I created a forum
for B&W scanning.

There is already a hotbed of activity going on... between me, myself... and well, me.

So, I don't know how these things start... but its there if you want it.

Hello Jeff,

Just my personal opinion, but my time is severely limited, and the
last thing I need is another forum to check messages on. IMO,
scanning is an important part of digital printing and is an
appropriate topic for this forum. If all scanning topics disappear
from this forum, it's already narrow focus will be reduced even more,
leaving only ink wars, paper and printers, and their related issues.
You can only read so much of this before it all blurs together.
Scanning is one of the more interesting topics here, for me. I think
it would be a severe detriment to this forum for scanning topics to
disappear.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I won't be checking in to the
scanning forum - I simply don't have time. I'm sure you mean well,
and I understand the rush of adrenaline and enthusiasm that comes with
a nifty new idea, but I wish more consideration and discussion about
the idea had taken place here before you jumped into it.

This is my one-stop-shopping place for digital BW printing
information.
I am seriously considering buying the new Minolta 35mm scanner next
month. If I have any reports or questions I'll be bringing them here.

Regards,
Clayton

I do understand your concern with time, but for me that is precisely why I wanted a
group like the B&W scan group. While I check email in this group occasionally, there
is too much traffic here that is non scanning related for me to sift through to find the
scanning related questions.

I have an interest in some of the topics in this forum, but I use ImagePrint and I focus
more on the IP forum. So, for me, it will save time to have a B&W scanning group that
deals with scanning and not printing.

Thanks,
Jeff
