[Digital BW] Are there profiles available to use Epson 870 with MIS VM inks?

[Digital BW] Are there profiles available to use Epson 870 with MIS VM inks?

Herb,

There are currently no adjustment curves for the 1270 or 870 (which I
beleive are the same except for size), and my initial experience is that the
1270 takes very different curves than the 1280. It appears there are a
number or people with 1270's or 870's who want to use the MIS VM inkset, so
I'll help owners write the curves. However, it'll take a few weeks.

Paul

Paul - So there's still hope for me. Great!!

Thanks.

Paul,

That would be great. There are a lot of 1270's out there and they
have been bypassed by Piezo. So a set of MIS VM curves would be of
great interest.

I'm also interested in curves for the 870/1270 (I'm assuming they
would be the same.) I've tried the 1280 curves, and I agree with
Paul: the 1280 curves don't work very well with the 870. I'm willing
to do the work myself, but I'm not sure I have the equipment or the
experience necessary. If someone would post a sort of general
outline of the process, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

McKenzie,

If you go to:

Files > Ink data > MIS Variable Mix

on the groups home page there is the text of a message Paul posted
earlier outline the proceedure he uses.

Let us know how it goes.

Martin
