Kodak inkjet papers and printers

2003-07-23 by Allen Birnbach

I have a show scheduled and the output must be on Kodak paper. I can go traditional
silver or digital. So the question is whether anyone has experience with Kodak Encad
printers and papers, or using Kodak inkjet papers in Epson printers. I'd appreciate
any thoughts.

I previously used the heavyweight Kodak satin inkjet
paper with an epson 875dc. The prints were fine, but
the paper stock has a very plastic feel, and the paper
remained/remains quite sticky. After printing, it is
best to let the paper sit out overnight so that the
inks can completely dry and the image can cure.

What kind of inks did you use? I'm wondering if changing the ink could solve that.

Allen,

I was using the original Epson inks - mainly printing
black only. The stickiness was due to the coating on
the paper itself.
