QuadtoneRIP - to Roy

QuadtoneRIP - to Roy

2003-07-27 by André Vallejo

Let me try to understand it: I've been reading thing here about this RIP you
wrote, and just got a version of WinLinux,so I\ufffdll try to install it on my
Windows XP to see if it will make your system work. Questions:
1.Do you know if it works under WinLinux?
2. Does it provide support to the 2200 in the same way ImagePrint does,to
make the neutral prints?
3.Do you have a basic text with all the spteps involved in setting it up? If
so could you email it to me?

Best,

André,

I don't know anything about WinLinux. The main thing it needs is a package=

called CUPS (Common Unix Printing System). This is the general framework
for the product as well as for gimp-print and ghostscript.

Yes. QuadToneRIP essentially provides very flexible control of what inks a=
re
used and where. So the concept is simple -- use mostly black and light-
black abnd then just enough light-cyan and light-magenta to neutralize
the color.

On my website first is an overview and then once you download the
Linux version you'll see all the documentation. There's not much Linux
specific info -- its all generic unix or Mac OS X.

Thanks for the tips. I just found out that WinLinux can´t be
installed under XP,so as soon as I figure out a way to set up a
linux system,I'll begin to try...
Thanks,
André

Roy,
What type of Linux would you suggest?
I know nothing about Linux, but would like to give your program a
try.
Thanks
Kevin
