Anybody use dual monitors? I bet it's great with Photoshop. I'll have a 17" Dell Trinitron soon to match up with my Dell 19" Trinitron and would like some recommendations for graphics cards. 933 mhz 512mb XP Home I'd like to get one card for both monitors. I've heard good things about Matrox. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Tom

I use dual monitors-main monitor NEC FP 1375 22 inch and 17" CTX as second. Work great with nVIDIA GeForce4 4800 card with 128 mgb RAM by Gainward. I run XP Pro on dual 2 Gb Xeon processors and all works well. Toolbars palettes etc. on second monitor give me lots of real estate on main monitor. I really didn't spend a lot on the second monitor since I use the CRT for my critical viewing etc.I understand the 4800 card has been superseded by another so you might find that card at a good price! Tom - I have an ATI Radeon 7000 series card in my Dell Precision running a 19" LaCie and an ancient 15" NEC monitors, running XP Pro . Dual monitors is very handy for many applications, but putting the full screen image on the 19" tube "clean" is the primary benefit for me. _____________________________________________ Help end spam and telemarketing... never respond to it, even to "unsubscribe."

Hi Tom, I have used a Matrox G450 Millenium Dual LE card for almost three years and it has been flawless. Currently it drives a Viewsonic PF 790 (Trinitron) which is calibrated using a Colorvision Spyder and Photocal as well as a 17" Dell for all of my tools from Photoshop. It is simple to drive each monitor separately and individually from the same card! I will definitely buy the new Matrox Parhelia when my Sony Artisan arrives later this month. I used the the G450 with an 800 mHz chip from the start so I'm sure it'll work with your chipset. I can tell you it also works very well with my current 1.8 chipset. Hope this is useful, Owen Evans J.33.3 "By concentrating on precision, one arrives at technique; But by concentrating on technique, one does not arrive at precision." -Bruno Walter-

I use a Matrox G550 and it works great. My main monitor is a Lacie 19" CRT, which is where I display the image. The second monitor is a cheap 15" LCD that doesn't take up much space on my desk, and that's where the toolbars and dialog boxes go. Tom wrote: >Message: 1 Date: Sun, 03 Aug 2003 23:26:55 -0000
