Convertio RGB to B&W

Convertio RGB to B&W

I tested Gregory Schern recommendation as to converting RGB to B&W.
In step 1 when New Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer is created, and
Lightness is put to +100, then the image disappear-you can see only
white frame, which is natural. All further steps do not change
situation. Maybe I do not understand something? Yume

I just looked at his setup. Are you changing the Layer mode to
Saturation? That should work, hope that helps.

I work exclusively in shooting colour print film targetted completely
at digital B&W output and have worked through multiple techniques for
conversion over a long period of time. The one conclusion I have come
to is that as much as you can consistently use an appropriate set of
tools for the conversion, you cannot use automated workflows to
deliver the *best* result for converting every image. You would be
better advised to spend time understanding the hows and whys of
converting colour to B&W against the "black box" approach if you're
serious about producing high-quality B&W output.
