Don't shoot the messenger :-)

And I think there's good B&W printing aboard. At least for matte.
Carts probably 7600/9600 alike but possibly with another chip.
A year is unlikely but 6 months wouldn't surprise me.

a great service by conveying info as you get it. just that I'm still
smarting from my last experience w/ epson. any idea the original
source of the $1400-1500 price for the 4000?

thanks.

m4000px1.htm Japan web page showing the 4000PX, price
seems to be 94800 yen which converts to $846.00. Probably
Singapore has it by now also.

It shows the 2200 just below the 4000. The 4000 has the
concave front with the buttons on the top rather than the bottom.
Go>epson.com.>japan and there is enought english on the site
to find the 4000. I checked Singapore and Hong Kong, neither
have it yet. Looks like a 7 color med format, can't read Japanese
so can't help further. I down loaded a picture of it and will send it
to you if I can.

It's just the 2200 with a different Japanese model number. It seems like
they already have some older product named 2200. The 4000-PX is also
listed as an A3 printer in the product list, and is not marked as a new
product like som of the other items.

This is going to get really confusing since in the US there was an Epson
4000 impact printer and in Europe there currently is an Epson 4000 laser
printer. No way to second guess what they will wind up calling it in
different markets.
