Epson 3000 & workflow

Epson 3000 & workflow

2003-09-27 by lovelipp

I use an Epson 3000 with a Dell pc and MIS original quadtones,& Epson
driver.Does anyone have a workflow for this combo? As soon as I
finish this last set of qauds in my printer, what is the best of the
new generation of archival quads? I prefer the warmer neutrals and
most of my prints are 16 x 20.(my work is street photography,
documenting the universal hoax).
The generosity and support of people in this group has been
overwhelming and I think Paul Roark should be nominated for
sainthood.
     Best to all, Arlene Love

Hi--
Here is my experience. I have an Epson 3000 running on a Windows
machine. I am using the newer Piezotone inks and have never had a
problem other than VERY minor clogs. I never ran the original Piezo
inks in this machine. Perhaps Wilfred's problems came from the two
inks interacting badly??
Anyway, my work flow is scanning at 4000 dpi in 12 bit/color mode on
a Nikon (I shoot color negatives), converting to gray scale in
Photoshop using the channel mixer, applying levels/curves while
still in 16 bit mode. I convert to 8 bit if I need to touch up
scratches or dust spots. I print on Legion Photo matte paper and
love the results!
John
